האוקראיניים שדדו לעצמם רכוש רב. קלנר ושני עוזריו, אנשי
ה״גסטאפו" פאהל ופראנץ ניהלו את ה״אקציה" בפראות,
בצריחות, מכות ויריות. במהלך נרצחו קרוב ל־30 זקנים, חולים,
אלה שניסו להסתתר או שהתנגדו להובלתם כ״צאן לטבח". כך
רצח פאהל אשה זקנה שברחה לתוך מרתף בבית ה״יודנראט",
ואברהם בילגורי מעיד כי ראה במו עיניו כמה מעשי רצח נוספים
שבוצעו בידי פאהל. (פושע זה עומד למשפט במאנהיים והתהליך
המשפטי נמשך כבר כמה שנים). הוא וקלגסיו ערכו גם חיפושים
אכזריים על גופיהם של העצורים בקסרקטין ושדדו מהם כל
תכשיט או חפץ בעל־ערך, שנמצא ברשותם. כך השתוללה התופת
כל שעות היום עד הערב, ואז שקטה ה״אקציה" והשתררה דממת
מוות שהופרעה מדי פעם על ידי יריה, צריחת הרוצחים, שעוד
מצאו מישהו שיצא ממחבואו, ואנחותיהם של כלואי הקסרקטין.
היה ליל ירח בהיר, השמים הביטו על השמדת בני־אדם חפים
מפשע — ושתקו... ביום ראשון, ב׳ דסוכות נמשכה האקציה,
אולם רק מעטים עוד נתגלו. שכנינו האוקראיניים הוכיחו גם בזה
את שנאתם המסורתית ליהודים ואחדים מהם שיתפו פעולה עם
הנאצים, גילו בונקרים ומסרו את יושביהם לידי הרוצחים.Source passage 3
