... בתחילת 1924, עם העתקת המעון לבית סלומון גוטמן, כמה
בני המקום פנו לראשי "השחר", שיהיו להם לעזר בארגון "השומר
הצעיר", שלא התקיים אז בעירנו ושיתמזג עמם. ההצעה הזאת
נראתה ל״השחר, כי קסמה לו תנועת נוער זו, לפני שנזדהתה
עם השקפותיו הפוליטיות של הקבוץ הארצי בארץ ישראל. לשם־כך
בא לבנדין המנוח קובה רוזנברג מהשומר הצעיר בוארשה (עבד
כרופא בקופת־חולים בת״א ונפטר בשנותיו הטובות ביותר).
נבחרה ועדה משותפת שמתפקידה היה לגשת לפעולה. שלא
הצליחה מטעמים שאי־אפשר לעמוד עליהם ברשימה זו. חברי הגרעין
(רובם הגדול ניספו) נתפזרו לארגוני נוער אחרים, סר ס לידידי.
