היה ר׳ יחזקאל משורר אצל החזן ר׳ חיים מקשאנוב, חזן בעל
מדרגה גבוהה, עד שרבי הירש הצדיק מרימנוב, שידלו להתפלל
אצלו בימים־הנוראים (ודחיים חזן היה מחסידי הצדיק מרדומסק).
מאז היה דיחזקאל הרוח החיה בחוגי הזמרה של החסידים, מארגן
חוגים של בחורים־חסידים, מדריך ומנצח ומזמר במסירות ובמרץ,
בלהט, בקול ובלשון שונה ובהומור חריף, וכך הספיק להכניס
לפגי ולפנים של עניני החסידים בכלל ועניני הניגונים בפרט,
כוונת בקוריו בערים ובעיירות זגלמביה היתה. — לרכוש ידידים
חדשים לנגינת רדומסק על־ידי הפצתה בצבור הרחב. וליחום גדול
נחשב לו בכל מקום דבר השתתפותו בפועל במקהלת ה״תפארת
שלמה" בהנהלת המנצח הנודע דליזרקה פרלמוטר מלודז׳/ הוא
המתכנן של כל ניגוני רדומסק לחגים ולימים־הנוראים, כפי שכונה
בפי מכריו בשם "היועץ המוסיקלי של הרבי מרדומסק". דליזרקה
פרלמוטר — היה אז שם־דבר בעולם הנגינה החסידית, וגאוות
המשוררים במקהלתו עליו. ולא אחת היה מספר דיחזקאל לפני
קהל מאזיניו, איך בא דליזרקה מלודז׳ לרדומסק עם צרור
ניגוניו החדשים שהשמיע לפני ר׳ שלמה הצדיק, והלה שם אזנים
כאפרכסת, שמע והתחקה על כל ניגון, תנועותיו וקמטיו. ואם
מצא הניגון חן בעיניו היה הצדיק סוגר את קופסת טבק־ההרחה
שהיתה מונחת תמיד לפניו על שולחנו, לאות שהניגון "כמונח
בקופסה". מאות ניגונים ידע ר׳ יחזקאל בעל פה מאות התקופה
מפוארה ומאות הצוותא של ר׳ לייזרקה ומקהלתו. וכן זכר את
הניגונים שהיו חביבים על הצדיק מרדומסק והיה מזמרם כפעם
בפעם בקולו הרענן והלוקח לבבות שומעיו, ובראשם ניגון מסובךConnected nodes
