כחסיד נלהב של האדמו״ר מסובצ׳וב היה נוסע אליו בפעם בפעם, ובהיותו שם !יושב היה תמיד לצד מערב ומתפלל בשקט, כשמורא רבו ומורא שמים נסובים בפניו. ובישבו לפני רבו לא היה מעיז לטעום דבר עד שרבו לא יצווה עליו. וכך היה נוהג עם כל האדמו״רים. בהקדמתו לספרו "ארץ צבי" הוא כותב: "דברי המתגעגע להיות בטל לעבדיה, ולכל נקודה טובה מישראל אסקופה נדרסת תחת רגלי החכמים הצדיקים". הוא יזם והמציא לימוד ה״משנה יומית" לזכך את נשמות ישראל. ...

... בהזדמנות ראשונה שבאה לידו עשה את דרכו לארץ ישראל שכה השתוקק אליה, ועלה יחד עם רבו האדמו״ר רבי דוד מסוכצ׳וב, לאחר ששה בארץ שלשה חדשים, חזר לישיבתו ולתלמידיו. בשנת תרצ״ט הוציא לאור את ספרו שדת "ארץ צבי" הנוגע להלכות למעשה באורח חיים שבשולחן ערוך.
