פשדבורש, הנמצאת במחוז קינצק והסמוכה לראדושיץ, קהילה
יהודית עתיקה ונחשבה כמבצר הלמדנות בפולין. בעיקר נתפרסמה
בשל בית־הכנסת העתיק שבה, שהיה בנוי עץ ונבנה לפי האגדה
בידי אסתר׳קה אשת המלך קזימיר הגדול. פשדבורש זכתה לשם
התואר "ארץ ישראל בזעיר אנפץ", היתה, מפורסמת בלמדניה,
דרשניה ומגידיה.
רבי ישעיה היה חברו ללימוד בישיבה של ה״יהודי הקדוש"
מפשיסחה. תחילה נבחר לרב העיר. אחרי פטירת ה״חוזה" מלובלין
בשנת תקע״ה הוכתר לרבי מפשדבורש, והמשיך בשיטת החסידות
כפי שקיבל מפי רבו החוזה. רבי מאיר למאפטא היה קורא לו
"ישעיה הנביא". הצטיין בעניוות ובריחה מן הפרסום. נפטר ד׳
אלול תקצ״א בפשדבורש, ועל קברו אוהל שמשוך אליו המוני
