... כאמור, לא היתה, גישה אחידה אצל השלטונות הנאציים לבעלי דרכונים, אבל גם לא כל אלה שהצליחו להגיע למחנה של אזרחי־חח — נשארו בחיים. ידועים המקרים של מחנה ויטל וברגן בלזן. מהמחנה הראשון הוציאו הגרמנים 200, ומהשני קרוב ל־3000 יהודים בעלי דרכונים דרום־אמריקאיים ושלחו אותם לאושוויץ (לסי המחקר של ד״ר עק).
