... ר, קלמן מילא אצל הצדיק ר׳ שלמה מראדומסק תפקיד בדחן
של כבוד כרבי מרדכי רקובר אצל ה״חוזה" מלובלין. בכלל היו
בדיחותיו מוכנות לו תמיד. בכל מכתב שהיה כותב לבנו היתה
בדיחה. האחרון התאונן פעם במכתבו לאביו בימים שלפני לפסח,
שאין לו פדיון בחנותו. השיב לו ו"קלמן: די לעבד להיות כרבו.
"אז דער רבש״ע לייזט ניט ווילסטו לייזין?" וכשנתמנה פעם לפני
ימי פורים ר' ישראל דנציגר למו״צ בבנדין הוא כתב לבנו של
ר׳ קלמן: דרוש בשלום ידידי ואני מאחל לו שלא יכשל בדבר
הלכה, והמתפלל בעד חבירו הוא נענה תחילה. "אז איך ווערל
