... The public bath, which the municipality of Bialy- stok had sponsored, became the domain of the State. As a result, the mikvah, which had been part of the public bath, was liquidated. The leaders of the carpen- try cooperative succeeded in raising enough funds to build a new mikvah in the home of one of their members.
