עמלים, בעלי מלאכה, נגרים, סנדלרים, בנאים ונסרים -- פילשציקעס. מספר רב של בתי אכרים
בכפרים בדרך לסטולין ולפינסק, הוקם בידיהם המיובלות של תמימי דרך אנשי עמל אלה. יוצאים
הם ביום ראשון עם שחר, עם כלי מלאכתם לכפרים וחוזרים ביום שישי אחר הצהרים. כשגדל
מספרם, הקימו להם בית כנסת קטן בשכונתם, שלא להתיגע בדרך רחוקה לבית הכנסת לקצה השני
של הכפר. רק בשבת, כשהרב היה דורש דרשה לפני הצבור, או כשאחד המגידים היה מטיף
דבריו לקהל -- ומגידים היו פוקדים את הכפר לעתים קרובות -- היו היהודים העמלים האלה
