יהודה ז"ל ברח בשנת 1905 מרוסיה, כאשר גוייס לצבא הרוסי במלחמת רוסיה-יפן). היה זה
בשנת 1920. הרבי האזין לשירתו וזו עשתה עליו רושם עז כל-כך, עד שאמר : ;הניחו לוּ לשיר
