מקום שם נפטר, פגש שם בר' ישראל יהודה, לאחר שלא ראו זה את זה שנים רבות, כי (ר' ישראל
יהודה ז"ל ברח בשנת 1905 מרוסיה, כאשר גוייס לצבא הרוסי במלחמת רוסיה-יפן). היה זה
בשנת 1920. הרבי האזין לשירתו וזו עשתה עליו רושם עז כל-כך, עד שאמר : ;הניחו לוּ לשיר
כאות נפשו, כי אומן הוא, היודע את אומנותו" ואף ציוה לו לשלוח אליו ניגונים מיוחדים לימים
