אנשי המים היו מכונים ,בארלינשצ'קים", על שום היותם עוסקים ב;בארלינות" -- מעין
ספינות מפרש. הבארלינה -- שימשה אמצעי תחבורה על המים. בזמנים קדומים השתמשו
בספינות, רחבות וכבדות -- ב,אידאק" בלע"ז. היתה זו תחבורה לא נוחה ובמחצית המאה ה-19
הוצאה מכלל שימוש ואז החלו להשתמש ב,בארקות" ובארלינות. הבארקה היתה, לרוב, פתוחה
ובנינה היה : 19--15 סאזשנים האורך -- 8--7 ארשין הרוחב ו-187--24 וירשוק העומק. כח קיבולה
היה, לערך 4-5000 פוד, דהיינו, 80 טון. בבארקה השתמשו, בעיקר, להובלת עצי הסקה ולוחות.
הבארלינה היתה מכוסה. גודלה 20--17 סאזשנים האורך, 3 סאזשנים הרוחב ו-27 ארשין העומק.
היתה בנויה 2--3 תאים, בהם הובילו סחורות שונות. צוות העובדים בבארלינה היה, לערך 18
