יהושע עזב את קהילת שידלוב ונעלם. בשנת 1739 הופיע
בפני ועדת ד״ד ארצות ביארוםלב ודרש מאת דײני הועד להתוכח
ולשמוע את טענותױ נגד אחױ דוד שמעלקא. כשסרבו לקבלו
וגרשו אותו מן העיר, ברח יהושע למנזר הישועים והתנצר

שמעלקא אזוי װײט, אז ער איז באזײטיקט געװארן פון כםא
הרבנות אין קראקע. אויף זײן ארט איז געװארן רב און אב״ד
ר׳ יצחק ױסף תאומים פון םלוצק. ר׳ יהושע האט באשולדיקט
זײן ברודער דוד שמעלקע, אז ער האט געפעלשט די צװאה
צו זיץ גינםטן. אין 1730 האט ער ארײנגעטראגן קעגן אים
אן אנקלאגע אין געריכט נאװע־מיאסטא — נאװי־קארטשין
און האט ארויםבאקומען א באשטעטיקונג פון דער צװאה פון
פרוי פאזשאראװסקי, די באזיצערין פון כמיעלגיק, װו ער איז
דעמאלט געװען רב. דא איז אזש דערגאנגען צו א געשלעג
צװישן די ברידער, בעת װעלכן ר׳ יהושע איז שװער פאר־
װונדעט געװארן און דאס איז באשטעטיקט געװארן דורך א
