הציונים הכלליים קיימו אספות והרצאות, עזרו בהקמת בית-ספר ,תרבות? ויותר מאוחר,
יסדו את תנועת הנוער שלהם ,השומר הלאומי"* (אחר כך: ,הנוער הציוני"). הציונים הכלליים
השתתפו במערכת בחירות, כגון: בחירות לסיים, למועצת העיריה, לועד הקהילה, לקונגרסים
הציונים וכו'. זמן מה היה בעיר גם קיבוץ הכשרה -- ,הנוער הציוני", שבאו ממקומות שונים
ועשו את הכשרתם בדוד-הורודוק. קיבוץ זה לא התקיים זמן רב בגלל מחסור עבודה בעיר.
הוא חוסל בשנה הראשונה לקיומו -- היא שנת 1934. הנוער של קיבוץ זה, עבר לנקודות הכשרה
