ההאבסבורגית ועל גאליציה עברו תהפוכות קשות במשך שנתיים
עד שצורפה לרפובליקה הפולאנית החדשה. בתחילה הוקמה בה
"הרפובליקה האוקראינית הדימוקראטית", אשר יחסה כלפי
היהודים לא היה אוהד. גם הכנופיות של פטלורה פרעו ביהודי
סקאלה, אלא שהפגיעות היו לאין ערוך קלות מאלה שבמזרח
