... בשנת 1928 נתקבל לחזן בבנדין, אחרי שמשרתו לא היתה תפוסה מאז עזיבתו של ליכטנשטין. זופוביץ היה חזן טוב, יפה ומאובן, ויכול היה להישאר בבנדין שנים רבות, כי בתפילתו הערבה עורר את מאזיניו לתפילה ולכוונה, וביחוד הפליא לעשות בלווית מקהלתו שהוסיפה יופי ונועם לזמרתו. אך זופוביץ היה מטבעו חסיד מאנשי "ויסעו ויחנו". קשה היה לו להישאר זמן רב במקום אחד. מלבד זה, על אף ידיעתו את תורת ההרמוניה בצלילים, לא ידע את יחסי ההרמוניה עם הגבאים, ושני הצדדים היו בני "עם קשה עורף״, וכתוצאה מכך עזב זופוביץ את בגדים אחרי 2—3 שנים.
