... באשר למוסדות החינוך וההשכלה שבסקאלה היהודית יש לציין שהילדים למדו בבית הספר העממי על שם פולאסקי, היחידי בעיירה, ובתום 7 שנות לימוד יצאו לחיי עבודה, לעזרת הורים ורק מעטים המשיכו לימודיהם בבתי ספר על-יסודיים מחוץ למקום. בשנת 933 נוסד בית ספר תיכון פרטי דו־שנתי ובו למדו בני יהודים, פולנים ואוקראינים שהמשיכו לימודיהם בשתי הכיתות האחרונות לקראת בחינות הבגרות בבורשצ׳וב או בצ׳ורטקוב. בית הספר נסגר בפרוץ המלחמה. אולם, נוסף ללימודי בוקר בבית הספר הפולני, למדו בני המשפחות שומרות המסורת ב״חדרים" ואילו ילדי השכבה המשכילה יותר למדו בבי״ס עברי "תרבות" שהיו בו גם כיתות גן־ילדים וכיתות על־יסודיות. שם טוב יצא לבית ספר זה. הוא טופח באהבה על ידי ראשי הקהילה ומנהיגי המפלגות הציוניות המקומיות וגם התקציב הובטח על ...Source passage 2
