למחרת היתה העיר כמרקחה. האשמה בקומוניזם, בעיר השוכנת על גבול רוסיה בפולין
דאז -- לא היתה מן הדברים הקלים, ומה עוד, שנוסף לכך היה בין האסירים אברהם דורצין,
שזה עתה בא מרוסיה וסורוקה היה איש טורוב. מעשי הפולנים בפינסק, הריגת ה-35 עודם
זכורים היטב, החרדה בעיר היתה גדולה. התחילו באיסוף חתימות מאת תושבי העיר, המעידות,
שאין אנו קומוניסטים. כמה מן התושבים חששו לחתום. אנו לא ידענו על כל החרדה הזאת
וחוץ מסורוקה, שהיה לו פספורט ננסן, שמחנו להיות אסירים פוליטיים. ביום הראשון בבוקר
הובילונו ללונינץ. כל בני העיר יצאו ללוותנו. נסעו אתנו אבא, אהרן-יונה שפר ודוב מורבצ'יק.
בעזרת מ. מוזיקנט, בעל בית-מלון, שהיו לו קשרים עם קציני המשטרה, שוחררנו לאחר שלשת
ימי מאסר. מאסר זה, הפסיק את הפעולה הציונית של הנוער בעירנו לחדשים מספר. אך לאחר
מכן, היא נתחדשה ביתר שאת. ושוב היה מרכז הפעולה בביתנו עד עלייתנו ארצה. גם משניתן
